the Styled Shoot Collection: My Big Fat Charleston Wedding
“My Big Fat Charleston Wedding” idea all started with a single shoe. Rebecca’s shoe store, Kheloni, came out with a new sandal that gave her and Jackie with Southern Vintage Photography the idea. And when they came to me with the inspiration of a Greek-esque Charleston affair, I was sold!
The idea was simple: Rebecca, owner of Kheloni, asked Jackie with Southern Vintage Photography to help turn her shoe business toward weddings. Rebecca herself is Greek and my good friend and colleague Jackie brought me on to help plan, design, and execute the shoot. And I’d almost argue that organizing a styled shoot is more work than an actual wedding!
But it was too good to pass up.
Charleston and Greece have many similarities, so drawing up the inspiration was natural. These coastal, historic locations beg for a blue & green palette, a column-flanked grand staircase leading into the venue, and a carefully layered chinoiserie tablescape.
The beauty of a styled shoot is each vendor can show off their talents and be as creative as possible. So pushing the envelope to show clients what we can imagine without limitations is exhilarating. All our vendors put their best foot forward with this one, so much so that it’s no surprise when clients still mention this shoot to us.
It’s the effortless, yet beautifully curated vibe. The maximist table with the simplicity of a charcuterie board. It’s the classic bridal gown and tux with the mix and match bridesmaids dresses and ornate jewelry. It’s the timelessness of the venue with the ruggedness of the vintage Ford Bronco.
It all shows the delicate balance each wedding craves.
Please enjoy these photos as much as we enjoyed creating them. And if you’re looking for a planner to make your Grecian wedding dreams come true, we’re just the gals for you!
